Let’s revisit the old question that has been debating ever since - Is manual tooth brushing or using electric toothbrush the better option? While new evidence points out that consumers are getting better results using electric toothbrushes, there are many that brushes the manual way and points to their sparkling teeth as evidence that they are not losing out.

While regular brushing (2 times a day) and flossing may help, it is ultimately the technique of brushing that matters. Dentists recommend circular motion when brushing yet not many consumers practiced it that way. The common method appears to be sideways or up and down motion. That’s where an electric toothbrush comes in handy.

The one advantage of using an electric toothbrush is that it comes with a built-in timer that dictates the time consumers should brush their teeth. This is important because dentists recommend regular 2 minute brushing each time so that the fluoride in toothpaste can work effectively with the gums and teeth. Any lesser than that and it won’t work effectively thereby exposing the gums and teeth to plaque build up.
