Since they can cost upwards of $2,000, knowing what’s the best hot tub for personal use ensures that you get the full benefits of hydrotherapy so you will feel refresh and energetic every single day.
Hot Tub Buying Guide
1) Size (Seating Capacity)
This should be your first consideration. You need to know how many people you intend to hold at any one time be it 2, 4 or more. That should give you a rough idea of the size of the hot tub you intend to buy and then figure out if there is available space on your home to accommodate it.
2) Internal Or External?
Hot tubs are huge and heavy, weighing close to 3,000 lbs when filled. They are usually meant for outdoor use. Before installation, ensure that there is at least a concrete pad that can support the weight of this tub, if not ask a contractor to make one. Also make sure that there is enough room to access side panels for maintenance.
If you intend to use it for internal use, make sure that it can fit through the doorway. The room you intend to use it must have solid support underneath to hold the weight of the hot tub too as well as big enough for you & others to move around in & out of the tub.
3) Jets
What type of jets should your tub have? There are many different types of hydrojets available from volcano, whirpool, swirl, directional, pulsating etc. The type of jets you choose is not so important as to the placement of the jets. You want jets that target specific muscle groups that are most likely to be tensed and fatigued such as neck & shoulders, hand & foot, lower back etc.
4) Comfort
Is the seat comfortable when you try it out? Is the footwell large enough to hold everybody at the same time? Is the seat adjustable to let you enjoy different depths of warm water? Given the choice, you should perform "wet test" so that you can actually feel the level of comfort you truly desire. After all you are going to pay big bucks for this hot tub!
5) Ozone
There are hot tubs that use chemicals to keep the water sanitized and chemically balanced. It also means that running costs are high since you have to schedule maintenance regularly. By using an ozonator, water is constantly kept clean & hygenic with ozone hence little or low maintenance is required saving you money in the long run.
